I went to the Romance Writers of America Annual Conference and I didn't hide the entire time! Success!
Hope everyone is having a great summer, mine's going pretty well. First things first, writing updates:
I have just submitted the first and second of three contemporary holiday shorts to Loose Id. I know what you're thinking, more holiday books? Don't you have two already? You know what I have to say to that? Bah humbug to you. There can NEVER be enough holiday romance stories. The holidays are rife with romance and the possibility of romance and there is snow and thick sweaters and apple cider. What could be more perfect than a romance novel with all of those elements? I can't think of a damn thing. So the first story is Halloween themed, the second is Thanksgiving themed, and third is Hanukkah themed! Yeah, I'm half Jewish, I'm writing a Hanukkah story and it is just as festive as the Christmas stories. Please note, I have only submitted these stories, they are not yet contracted. If they are accepted and contracted I will write an update with a publication date.
The next writing update I have for you is I have officially finished and submitted the first of my Science Fiction Romance Trilogy. I have no idea whether the publisher will want it or not, it was a completely new experience for me and the process might take a while so that is all I am going to say on that subject.
Now for the poop news. To Mate a Soldier is still not on the slate for publication. There is a lot of confusion over in that corner and I am just waiting to hear from the publisher what is going to happen with that book. I am also considering self publishing the rest of the Lost Alphars Series. I'm still working on it, still crafting it. So we will just have to wait and see...
Now for the fun stuff.
I went to RWA16 in San Diego and it was AMAZING, I met so many strong and talented women and I was so inspired by them to keep pushing and keep writing, and that is what I'm doing. I swear...I have not turned on the TV once this whole week. I've been getting up, writing, going to work, coming home, writing. Reading. That. Is. All. I feel like I'm training for a marathon and my hands are in a permanent state of cramping, but it's so worth it, she says while her face is turning red as she's chugging redbull and her hair is starting to fall out.
Oh, and I have started a newsletter! Or will start a newsletter, just go on and sign up! Right here, I'm pointing down. This is me pointing down.
Thats all for now, until next time.
I'm a geek with a sometimes wacked out imagination.
