Bonus points to anyone who knows what the title of this post is from...I won't blame you if you can't guess. It's extremely geeky.
Well, hi there. Been a little while since I checked in and oh, boy, shit has been going down. I'm sure this has made the chat circulations by now but Samhain, the amazing publisher my Lost Alphars series is released with, are closing their doors. I have checked in with the crew at Samhain and they have reassured me that To Mate a Soldier is still going to be published, however I will most likely, maybe, get my rights back after a while. To be honest, I don't know how long it will be until that happens but I trust Samhain and the people working there to do right by their authors.
In other news the lovely folks over at Loose Id have accepted my new MMF Contemporary Romance, tentatively titled Food for the Soul, and we will beginning the editing process soon. I don't know the publication date for that one, but as soon as I do I promise to update or at least post on Facebook or twitter.
In writing news I am still working on my Science Fiction romance. I'm hoping to have it finished by the RWA Conference in July so I can pitch it to some agents or publishers. I've never pitched before and the whole idea of attending a conference is so overwhelming to my poor introvert brain that sometimes I think I might just cancel the trip all together. But you know what, folks? Fuck that! I've worked hard to write these books, and it's something that I love doing. Why would I deny myself this amazing opportunity due to a little insecurity and fear?
Don't let fear get in the way of you being you.
It's difficult for me to live by those words, but I've been trying a lot harder to do just that this year. I'm eating healthier, exercising everyday, and trying my best to balance my full time day job and my writing. It is not easy, but nothing worth having was ever achieved by laying on your ass and binge watching TV 40 hours a week. Maybe once a month binge watch a new show...just not all the time.
Speaking of TV, tonight is the Downton Abbey finale so if you watch on West Coast time, follow me on twitter @CeriGAuthor for some wigs on the green hijinks. I seriously cannot stop saying that phrase since I first heard it.
I have to go now and split up my cats from either playing or fighting. I can't ever tell the difference.
Until next time,
I'm a geek with a sometimes wacked out imagination.
